You just knew it, didn't you?

I got up at 7:30am and dressed in non-working clothes because the pool guys were really and truly going to come...well, did a few chores, including moving a couple tarps to use to catch dirt when they dig & heard trucks around 8:15. Big trucks. Trash men, I think with a faint and fading hope...Many big trucks. I went to the front & couldn't even open the gate to pick up my empty recycling bin until I asked one of the workers to move a big flexible pressurized pipe out of my way. The sewer pipe refitters, whatever they are DOING for the 5th(at least) time in front of my house are here with 4 Huge Trucks directly in front of Ehouse and stretching to either side. I asked the man who moved the pipe & he told me they'd be 3 or 4 hours. I hope the trash men get through.
I was considered calling pool guy to warn him & decided not to, because what if the pipe guys get done sooner? What if pool guy can park down the street & start anyway. I come in from snapping a series of photos of the truck parade to see a message flashing on my phone.
Pool Guy. Apologizing. A pipe broke on the job they did yesterday. They have to go drain a big pool and fix it. *SIGH* I returned his call & he swears up, down and sideways that they will come on Monday & work all week straight on Ehouse's pool.
*****Ehouse, what gods hath thee offended?*****
Shall go put the tarps back & change into working clothes. Later.
On the GOOD NEWS front, last night I found in my mailbox another box of Czechoslovakian Gluten-Free goodies from
vjezkova AYAYYAYAYAYYAY! Thank you so many!
Also, my tomato bushes are starting to get the hang of things. I just collected enough to make a nice salad for lunch.

Ah, goodies - I hope these are your favourite ones! :-) Good for nerves!
My tomatoes have the first blossoms:-)

I'm hoping my tomatoes can continue to survive the heat- it's already theoretically hotter than they can set fruit (their ovaries shrivel, but I deliberately bought heat-tolerant types. This is a pretty good overview of what usually happens to me- I get a lot of blossom drop. (The low temp for the last month hasn't ever dropped below the 'too high' range.)

And right about then the pool guy called & SWORE they were coming all this week. The previous promise had been either the beginning of last week, or the end of the week before that....
I am sorry the pool got drained & all the little tadpoles killed for nothing... although I admit they didn't go to waste, I saw grackles eating them.
Seriously...
