The dragonflies are from the pool being stagnant for ages--made them a nice pond full of yummy tadpoles.
Lizards are *everywhere* in So. Florida. I'm grateful I don't have anything larger than the 18 inch Cuban Knight anole (which is shy and totally harmless). There are feral iguanas running around some neighborhoods.
OOOOOO...my lovely lizards are back! Lovely, lovely creatures! These are wonderful pictures! I know that dragonflies are very shy, not easy to take a picture - and such lovely ones!
The secrets to dragonfly pics : 1) If they perch somewhere, they will *probably* go back to the same perch even if they fly away for five minutes. As long as you DON'T MOVE (like lowering the camera) 2) Don't let your shadow pass over them. 3) Don't move close enough to disturb the air around them. If you haven't got a zoom, you haven't much chance of getting a good shot.
The dragonflies are like living jewelry. The colors! The metallic sheen! And what you can't catch in stills is the way they move their heads like tiny monkeys.
