Hah, AT&T guy came and his testing gadget that *never* fails was dead. He got another and tested both phones and all four jacks (all good) and then went back out to the box and is NOW thinking it is in the system. He whacked at the line with one of my pool poles to try to get a signal variance, and then said the readings were way too much voltage and he was going to drive up to the main box (wherever- WHAT do you want to bet it's the same one I saw the guy on Sept 22??) and fix whatever there, and if THAT doesn't do it, he's going somewhere else to fix stuff before returning to Ehouse.
The excitement never ends.
(Note: The fact that when he called me on my AT&T cell phone and he COULD NOT hear me from 6 blocks away should have been a tiny HINT that the problem is in the system.)
( The next chapter in our exciting saga. Will our hero escape from the saw mill? Will our heroine ride off into the sunset? Will dragons eat Ehouse? )
